How to pay for LLM APIs in Korean won (KRW)

Domestic card top-ups, fee structure, exchange-rate basis — settle all AI API usage in KRW from one balance.

To pay for LLM APIs in Korean won, sign up for PleumRouter and top up KRW prepaid credits. You charge a domestic card (single installment) — no foreign card or overseas business account needed — and usage across providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, …) is settled in KRW from one credit balance. The minimum top-up is 5,000 credits.

Who needs this#

Typical users are Korean developers and teams who find it hard to pay OpenAI, Anthropic and other overseas providers directly with foreign cards. It also suits anyone who wants to consolidate per-provider billing into KRW and keep it tax-invoice ready. Teams running or adopting AI services in Korea use it to settle model usage in KRW in one place.

Payment method and top-up flow#

Sign-up requires no card. Top up credits from the dashboard using a domestic card (single installment). Credits are deducted per successful model call. A call that fails before a response starts is not billed; if a streaming response fails midway, the tokens already sent are billed.

Fixed-price credit packs are also available — see credit packs.

Fee structure (live values)#

Current fees: model markup 0%, platform fee on prepaid top-ups by accounts without a subscription 3% (none for subscribed accounts), and FX markup on KRW conversion 0.5%.

The top-up payment amount (including fees and VAT) and the exact formula are published in the pricing docs. The rate applied to billing is the base exchange rate plus the FX markup, and it is refreshed about every 10 minutes.

Tax invoices and business accounts#

Electronic tax invoices are issued on request after Korean business verification. Verification can be completed in advance. Top-ups made before verification are not backdated.

Limits and cautions#

  • Prepaid by default; postpaid billing is available only under an approved B2B contract.
  • Top-ups use cards (single installment).
  • Refunds of unused credits follow the refund policy.
  • KRW charges are calculated at the applied rate at call time, not at the rate at the moment of top-up.
